The cast and crew from the UIL one act play won one of the top two slots at zone competition Monday, advancing to district competition for the first time in recent memory. Also advancing is Centerville's play, as well as Reisel and Leon from the West zone.
Individual honors won Monday include All Star Crew: Megan Mundy; Honorable Mention All-Star Cast: Chad Nelson; All-Star Cast: Kirk Ringland, Ryan Cheek, and Chris Mullins; and Best Actress Kaitlyn Shaw.

Reality comes to life for BHS students

Bad news often comes out of nowhere. Life is flowing along at a pleasant, uneventful pace, and then there’s the telephone call, the knock on the door, to inform you of a loved one has been killed in an alcohol-related accident. The world comes crashing down and when the dust settles, your perspective on life is totally changed. So many people believe it will never happen to them, but when it does, reality kicks in, and it is a reality that is forever.
That is exactly what took place at Buffalo High School last Wednesday and Thursday. The Jewett EMS teamed up with members many local organizations to present the Shattered Dreams Program to the Buffalo High School student body. The program, also known as "Every 15 Minutes", is an educational curriculum presented to high school students all over Texas and numerous other states.
