Reality comes to life for BHS students

     Bad news often comes out of nowhere. Life is flowing along at a pleasant, uneventful pace, and then there’s the telephone call, the knock on the door, to inform you of a loved one has been killed in an alcohol-related accident. The world comes crashing down and when the dust settles, your perspective on life is totally changed. So many people believe it will never happen to them, but when it does, reality kicks in, and it is a reality that is forever.

      That is exactly what took place at Buffalo High School last Wednesday and Thursday. The Jewett EMS teamed up with members many local organizations to present the Shattered Dreams Program to the Buffalo High School student body. The program, also known as "Every 15 Minutes", is an educational curriculum presented to high school students all over Texas and numerous other states.

      “[This program] teaches teenagers and their parents about the alcohol laws in their state,” local Shattered Dreams Program Coordinator Annitta Hannah said. “It also shows them how one wrong choice can shatter not only their dreams, but the dreams of everyone around them.” read rest of story in Feature section
